About Marla
My name is Marla Bailey. I wake up every morning believing that my today will be even better than my yesterday. Beautiful things thrill me so much that I just want to thank everyone who has a knack for dazzling my eyes with what they do. I love to paint, draw and get myself through creative messes. My mother is an artist and gave all of us kids easy access to her stuff so I would say that I have her to thank for where I am today as a painter. I tend to step into creative opportunities before much thought as to where I'll end up. That may be why my love for art can be a source of frustration and puzzling work too! It's not unusual for me to grab my husband and kids and ask them if they can see any remedy for the painting I'm working on. My gifted husband usually knows exactly what needs to happen to improve things and for that I am very thankful. I have worked in oils, pastels, a little jewelry and pen & ink with watercolor. These days I'm using acrylics and loving it! I like painting nature and drawing portraits. I love the challenge of making colors sing..that's what I want them to do anyway. What I desire to happen is that my paintings will bring heaven closer. I hear it's very beautiful there!
